CELEBRATING MOTHER'S AND FATHER'S DAY IN VIETNAM

Hey Jonny,

I wanted to share with you my thoughts on the importance of celebrating Mother's Day and Father's Day in our country. While it is true that in Vietnam we do not traditionally observe these days, I believe it is necessary to have special days dedicated to honoring our parents.

Parents play a crucial role in our lives, and it is essential for children to express their love, gratitude, and appreciation towards them. Celebrating Mother's Day and Father's Day can provide a platform for children to showcase their feelings and strengthen the bond within the family, enhancing our cultural traditions.

In my opinion, these special days should be celebrated at specific times of the year. Mother's Day could be observed in early spring, while Father's Day could be commemorated in early fall. These timings would allow for pleasant weather and easy travel arrangements for children who may be living away from their parents.

During these celebrations, families can come together to have a small gathering or party. It is not about extravagant gifts or elaborate feasts but rather about spending quality time with our loved ones and creating cherished memories together. Simple gestures of love and appreciation can make a significant impact on our parents.

I genuinely believe that the idea of celebrating Mother's Day and Father's Day would be well-received in our society. It has the potential to bring families closer and strengthen the values of respect and gratitude towards our parents. I hope that one day these celebrations will be embraced nationwide.

Looking forward to hearing your thoughts on this idea.

Your friend,
Mai Phuong
