Discovering Wonders in Vietnam: A Radio Game Show

In the communication unit 5, the book introduces a game show called ‘What’s What?’ where three contestants have to guess the wonders of Vietnam based on descriptions read out by the MC. The game involves listening to sentences that describe natural or man-made wonders without mentioning proper names of places. Contestants have to guess the wonder and the first to give the correct answer wins a special gift.

Interactive Radio Programme

The radio programme features the MC Ann, who guides the contestants through the game. The first part involves listening to descriptions of one of the wonders of Vietnam. If a contestant gives the correct answer before all sentences are read out, they win. However, giving an incorrect answer eliminates them from the round. The second part introduces specific details about the wonder, challenging the contestants to identify it accurately.

Creating Your Own Descriptions

After listening to the radio programme, students are encouraged to write their own six sentences describing a wonder of Vietnam they know. This exercise helps them practice descriptive writing and develop their communication skills.
