Vietnam has a wide range of festivals throughout the year. One of the most well-known festivals is Tet, the Lunar New Year. It is the most significant holiday in Vietnam and is usually celebrated in late January or early February. During Tet, families gather to pay tribute to ancestors, visit relatives, exchange gifts, and enjoy traditional foods. Another popular festival is the Mid-Autumn Festival, also known as the Moon Festival. It is celebrated on the 15th day of the 8th lunar month, when the moon is at its brightest. People light lanterns, eat mooncakes, and watch lion dances. The Hoi An Lantern Festival is another famous event in Vietnam. It takes place in the ancient town of Hoi An on the 14th day of each lunar month. During the festival, the town turns off electric lights and colorful lanterns are hung everywhere, creating a magical and romantic atmosphere. These are just a few examples of the many festivals celebrated in Vietnam, each with its own unique traditions and customs. Festivals in Vietnam are not only a time for celebration, but also an opportunity for people to preserve their cultural heritage and pass it down to future generations.
