Phương pháp chuyển câu trực tiếp thành câu gián tiếp:
- Thay đổi động từ trực tiếp (tell/say) thành động từ gián tiếp (ask, advise, warn, etc.).
- Thay đổi chủ ngữ (I, you, he/she, etc.) thành chủ ngữ gián tiếp (he/she, we, etc.).
- Thay đổi tân ngữ (us, him, etc.) thành tân ngữ gián tiếp (me, him, etc.).
- Thay đổi thì của động từ trực tiếp (present simple, past simple) thành thì của động từ gián tiếp (past simple, past perfect, etc.).
- Thay đổi đại từ chỉ định (this, that) thành đại từ trở về (it, them, etc.).
